Die & Mold Handling Equipment
Keep productivity and profits high with custom-engineered die carts and die/mold handling systems.
When you are running a stamping or injection molding operation, the speed and accuracy with which you change dies or molds is critical to keeping your competitive edge and increasing profitability. Today's production demands require the ability to react to frequent product changes, shorter production runs, lower inventory levels and higher productivity. Improved die and mold handling equipment is a key production resource for your facility.
While our equipment is custom engineered, that does not necessarily mean expensive. We begin the design process with pre-engineered cart models. Depending on the die/mold weight, speed of change and degree of automation required, we can customize our standard die and mold cart models to provide the features you need at an affordable price.
Available Features:
- Manual or powered transfers
- Fixed or adjustable heights
- Single or dual station
- Side-by-side loading
- Track mounted or free ranging
- Powered by a ball-screw or rigid chain die transfer
Model LDC -- Lift Die Carts
Model LDC Dual Station Lift Die Cart with End Pay-Off

Perfect for tight spaces around presses, this scissors lift die cart includes a powered walkie drive and turntable top. The rotating tabletop allows the old tool to be removed and the new tool rotated into position for insertion.
Model LDC Single Station Lift Die Cart with Side Pay-Off

Featuring a powered drive and hydraulic scissors lift table, this scissors lift die cart is equipped with dual-gravity roller conveyor decks for efficient side loading. For greater stability and easier mold handling, it also features top and bottom captured rollers. The lift/lower controls are conveniently located on the tiller handle of the power head. The optional pleated skirt provides extra protection for the working mechanism.
Dual Station Scissors Lift Die Cart

Built for positioning dies in tight spaces, this dual deck scissors lift die cart features dual-deck, side-loading. Press bolster bridge extensions are often included to facilitate die transfer.
Kiefel Cart

The Kiefel Cart, named for the Kiefel Mold Machine it services, was built for a tier-one auto parts manufacturer. The unit is rated at 2,200 pounds capacity. The molds are horizontally split on 42” x 42” back plates. Since each half of the mold has to be inserted into the machine separately, this unit has a lower and upper deck to handle each half of the mold. The upper deck has vertical travel that is independent of the main mast in order to separate the molds or to put them back together. Both decks have a hydraulically powered mold transfer system. The mold decks are attached to a battery powered walk-behind power head.
Model LDC Lite with Die Storage Rack

This 1,000-pound capacity pushcart with a battery powered hydraulic lift includes a die storage rack system.
Lift Die Cart

This 3500 lb capacity Model LDC cart transfers molds to/from storage racks and multiple injection molding machines.
Lift Die Cart

3500 lb capacity Model LDC cart with mold in raised position.
Model LDC

This lift die cart can handle a 10,000-pound die. The die deck has a gravity conveyor with a removable mold stop.
Model LDC-PW Lift Die Cart

Designed for a die/mold handling facility with remote die storage, this die cart provides a heavy-duty turntable and dual die decks with rollers to simplify transfer.
Mast Die Carts
Side Loading Mast Die Cart

For safe die and mold handling transfers from press to press, this Bushman AvonTec side-loading die cart features an automatic die transfer mechanism, which utilizes a ball screw and actuator.
Mast Die Cart

Designed for uninterrupted operation and quick die changes, the dual deck mast die cart facilitates the removal of old dies and the loading of new dies with minimal changeover time. Dual-tier end loading maximizes productivity.
Model MDC 3400 Die Cart

This is a 3,400-pound capacity mast die cart with powered die/mold transfer.
Mold Die Carts
Mold Die Cart

One recent customer implemented a quick mold changing system with a Model MDC 2500 mold cart. The cart had a number of features such as a ratchet operated centering guide and dual speed control for the forks; movement is slow for mold and die handling and faster for general straddle truck use. The cart substantially reduces the time needed to change out molds, resulting in higher plant productivity. It also improves personnel safety and reduces the chance for mold damage during mold and die handling. The picture on the left shows the mold and die cart in-position at the molding machine in preparation for extracting the mold.
Mold Die Cart

The Model MDC 1200 allows economical powered mold transport with manual front or side pay-off.
Track Mounted Die Cart

Built for precise die insertion, this track mounted die cart features a powered screw die transfer. Actuated by ball screws, it allows side loading from both sides of the die cart to allow for quick die change operations. Its track mounting also enables quick changeover for high volume operations in plants with multiple presses and storage racks.
